Sing Education are looking for reliable, confident and inspirational small group and 1:1 teachers to teach Keyboard, Singing, Guitar, Ukulele, Violin, Recorder and Flute (Grade 6 level minimum) with a degree in music or a related field (i.e. musical theatre/music education) to join our team of specialist music teachers.

Sing Education are looking for reliable, confident, and inspirational small group and 1:1 teachers to teach Keyboard, Singing, Guitar, Ukulele, Violin, Recorder, and Flute (Grade 6 level minimum) with a degree in music or a related field (i.e. musical theatre/music education) to join our team of specialist music teachers, who teach in primary schools across London. We will provide training and support, and our team of administrators will ensure your teaching runs as smoothly as possible, by taking on the communication with schools and parents.

Full Job Description

Instruments:

Keyboard, Singing, Guitar, Ukulele, Violin, Recorder and Flute

 

Pay:
Freelance basis – £22-£27 per hour

 

Teaching Days:

Range between 2-20 hours per week

 

Details:

  • Weekly teaching, during school hours – 8.45am-3.30 term time
  • Permanent placement in a Sing Education primary school/s
  • Teaching 1-5 days per week
  • Must have (or be willing to apply for through us) an Enhanced DBS Disclosure
  • Communicate professionally and clearly to represent Sing Education within a school
    setting
  • Attend and engage with Sing Education team training and induction sessions

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s (required)

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong singing voice and confidence to use the singing voice to support pupil learning
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Ability to lead small group (up to 5 people) and one-to-one lessons
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Basic keyboard skills if not first instrument
  • A degree of ICT literacy and ability to use

 

Experience:

  • Classroom or one-to-one teaching experience
  • Experience of working with children or young people in a teaching or leadership capacity.

 

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to lead and inspire a passion for music in pupils
  • A firm approach to discipline, and good management skills
  • The ability to work well as part of both Sing Education and in-school teams 
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality as 
  • appropriate
  • A sense of humour
  • An ability to generate enthusiasm for music in the wider life of the school
  • A high level of personal organisation and good communication skills
  • A commitment to personal and company wider development
