These terms and conditions apply to the music lesson services provided by Sing Education Limited, c/o 10 Towerfield Road, Essex, SS3 9QE. These terms and conditions were last updated in January 2025. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not proceed to purchase our services.
1. Timetabling and charges
1.1 Small group and one-to-one lessons are typically 30 minutes in duration, while after-school clubs are typically 1 hour. These durations are subject to change and will be stipulated upon booking or agreed in writing between Sing Education and the Parent.
1.2 All tuition is organised to take place during the school day between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM, unless otherwise agreed in writing with the Parent for a lesson to be delivered before or after school.
1.3 After-school clubs are charged either monthly in advance, in line with other payment policies, or termly in advance. Payment terms for each club will be confirmed upon booking.
1.4 All timetables and communications are distributed via the My Music Staff portal. For more detailed information on lessons and billing, please log in to our portal at www.singeducation.co.uk/studentportal. You can request login details by emailing instrumental@singeducation.co.uk.
1.5 Groups are built around pupil age and skill level. Due to the nature of group tuition, there will always be varying levels of skill within a group session.
1.6 Lessons are invoiced one month in advance to ensure payment ahead of lessons, i.e., lessons in January will be billed on December 1st. If an invoice remains unpaid, lessons will be suspended until payment is received.
1.7 Sing Education reserves the right to increase lesson and club fees annually in line with the Retail Price Index. Notice of fee increases will be provided at least one month in advance. Parents may terminate these terms and conditions with written notice of at least 24 hours prior to their next scheduled lesson or club if they do not wish to accept the fee increase.
2. Lesson cancellation
2.1 Sing Education sends automated lesson reminders 48 hours before each lesson, provided notifications are enabled. Lessons missed without 24 hours’ notice given via the student portal will be charged in full. If a Teacher is unavailable for a scheduled lesson, the lesson will either be rescheduled or credited towards a future lesson. In the event that credits cannot be used due to the student’s departure, a refund will be issued.
2.2 Parents may cancel lessons permanently or for any duration by providing at least 24 hours’ notice prior to the next scheduled lesson. Cancellations must be made through the Sing Education student portal or via email.
2.3 Lessons are scheduled around planned school closures (e.g., holidays and strikes) but not around individual absences due to school trips, illness, Forest School, swimming, sports day, appointments, exams (including SATS), assessments, or any similar events. Parents are responsible for cancelling lessons through the student portal at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for missed lessons.
3. After-School Clubs
3.1 After-school clubs are not subject to the standard cancellation policy.
3.2 Clubs are paid for in advance and cannot be cancelled or refunded once payment is made.
3.3 If a club session is cancelled, it will be rescheduled to another week within the school term. If no available week exists, an alternative date on a different day of the week will be offered. Parents may request a credit if they cannot attend the rescheduled session. If the session cannot be rearranged before the end of the academic year, the session will be credited.
4. Limitation of Liability
4.1 Sing Education is not liable for errors or omissions made in good faith within the scope of these terms and conditions.
4.2 Sing Education’s liability is limited to the total fees paid by the Parent and excludes indirect, special, or consequential losses, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by negligence.
4.3 Sing Education shall undertake criminal records and Disclosure and Barring Service checks in respect of any individual involved in providing the Services to the Student; however, Sing Education does not warrant or guarantee the status or any other matter in relation to such individuals.
5. Examination Entries
5.1 Examination entries, festivals, and competitions will only be pursued where the Student, Parent, and Teacher agree in writing. Such agreement must be confirmed at least four weeks before the entry deadline. Parents are responsible for associated costs.
6. Data Protection
6.1 Sing Education acts as a data controller under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, ensuring the lawful and secure processing of personal data. For more information, refer to our Privacy Policy.
7. Governing Law
