Are you ready to join Sing Education? We’re keen to hear from you. From your first expression of interest to your final interview, we seek the most reliable, confident and inspirational teachers. And, if offered employment, know that we provide extensive onboarding, training and day-to-day supervision to ensure your success.
Sing Education has a robust network of relationships with current music teachers, working musicians and industry professionals, as well as UK universities and music conservatories. We are fortunate in that most of our candidates are sourced via recommendation from within this network. We also actively recruit through careers fairs, social media portals and online jobs boards specific to the industry. In fact, we hope it’s through one of those channels that you discovered us!
Sing Education teachers come from diverse academic, professional and experiential backgrounds. We believe it adds to the strong nature of our team. That said, there are some characteristics we tend to find in those who are successful in their applications with us. At Sing Education we are looking for reliable, confident and inspirational musicians with a degree in Music or a related field, to join our team of specialist teachers. Experience with children and Early Years Foundation Stage is desirable, as is experience within a classroom or group setting, however training and support will be provided.
Wish to apply?
Given the nature of our teaching and the primary school setting, our application process is by necessity thorough, but certainly not daunting. First we ask you to complete a telephone conversation to capture some basic details regarding your experience, as well as academic background and qualifications for the role. We ask our applicants to complete a video task so they have an opportunity to demonstrate their teaching and musical skills. Then we schedule an online interview, typically with one of the directors. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and for us to round out our understanding of your application. We then progress with successful candidates to a classroom demonstration interview. We complete the process with references and all relevant safeguarding checks.
Congrats! Welcome to the team!
If you accept our offer of employment, as a new teacher with Sing Education you can look forward to an in-depth onboarding process. We use this period to induct you into the organisation, reviewing our mission, vision and values, introducing you to fellow teachers, as well as to instructing you in various elements of the job role, including our Schemes of Work, lesson plans, IT systems, payroll procedures, etc. We also formally introduce you to your new school, including an onsite visit and workplace operational manual.
